Association of Alcohol Manufacturers And Importers (AAMI)
The Association of Alcohol Manufacturers and Importers (AAMI) has been established by the major producers of alcohol beverages in Ghana to coordinate and direct activities towards the responsible production and use of alcoholic products in Ghana. AAMI believes that societal acceptable alcohol beverage consumption is possible with a responsible industry and a healthy society. Alcohol, when used responsibly, can make a positive contribution to the quality of life of those who choose to use it. However, alcohol can also harm those who abuse it and can result in undesirable consequences for society.
AAMI and its members have little direct influence over individuals who are prone to antisocial behavior. However, AAMI can make a substantial contribution to the development of responsible norms in society. Through sound education programs, AAMI aims to improve the average consumer’s decision-making skills when it comes to alcohol consumption.
AAMI is located at the First Floor Bari House, Flat Top Junction, Off Achimota-Lapaz Rd, Accra, Ghana. You can contact them at +233 030 241 70 94 or send an email to in**@aa**.gh. For more information, you can visit their website at http://aami.org.gh.
Stakeholder Engagement and Regulatory Affairs
AAMI recognizes the importance of stakeholder engagement prior to implementing any regulatory changes. The association works closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, industry experts, and consumer advocacy groups, to ensure that any proposed regulations are fair, effective, and take into account the interests of all parties involved.
The regulatory affairs manager at AAMI plays a crucial role in liaising with government officials and advocating for the interests of the alcohol industry. They work tirelessly to ensure that the industry’s concerns and perspectives are taken into consideration when new policies or regulations are being developed.

AAMI, along with its executive members, is working tirelessly to ensure that alcohol advertising in Ghana is done in a responsible manner. They are actively involved in initiatives aimed at educating advertising professionals about the potential impact of their campaigns and promoting responsible messaging.
Voluntary Compliance and Projects Implemented
AAMI encourages voluntary compliance with responsible alcohol advertising guidelines. The association believes that self-regulation is an effective way to ensure that advertising practices align with responsible drinking habits. AAMI provides guidance and support to its members to help them comply with these guidelines.
Through various projects implemented by AAMI, the association aims to raise awareness about responsible alcohol consumption and promote positive drinking behaviors.
