Association of all Savings and Loans Companies GHASALC
The Association of all Savings and Loans Companies (GHASALC) is a registered association of all Savings and Loans Companies in Ghana. These companies are licensed by the Bank of Ghana and operate under the laws of the country. GHASALC was established in 2008 as a nonprofit making institution, with the aim of addressing specific issues faced by Savings and Loans Companies in the microfinance sector.
Savings and Loans Companies play a unique role in the financial sector, and GHASALC recognized the need for a platform where their concerns could be heard and addressed. By coming together, these companies have a stronger voice in dialogues with other stakeholders in the financial sector in Ghana.
Vision
The vision of GHASALC is to elevate the business of Savings and Loans Companies in Ghana to a level where they are considered the best among financial intermediaries in Africa.
Mission
The mission of GHASALC is to build a solid platform for the enhancement of microfinance practice in Savings and Loans Companies. This platform aims to ensure the sustainability and growth of these companies and their customers, ultimately contributing to the development of the national economy.
Objectives
- To serve as a platform for effective communication and collaboration among members
- To serve as a mouthpiece and a consultation body for discussions with key stakeholders in the sector
- To improve information sharing and promote transparency in the sector
- To sensitize the general public about the specificities of Savings and Loans Companies and promote a better knowledge of the subsector
