Asunafo North Municipal Assembly
The Asunafo North Municipal Assembly is a local government body located in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. It shares common boundaries with the Asunafo South District, Asutifi South District, and the Juaboso District. The assembly forms part of the larger Asunafo District, which was split into three districts in 2008.
The Asunafo North Municipal Assembly covers a total land size of approximately 7 km2 and is situated in the western part of the Ahafo Region. It is located at latitudes 6°27’N and longitudes 2°52’W. The capital town of the municipality is Goaso.
The Asunafo North Municipal Assembly was established on 29th February 2008 when it was elevated to municipal status. Prior to this, it was known as the Asunafo North District. The district was created by decree and renamed to its current status. The municipality is one of the 260 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana.
