World Vision Ghana is a renowned organization that has been working tirelessly to improve the lives of vulnerable children and their families since 1979. With a strong presence in all 10 administrative regions of Ghana, World Vision Ghana implements 34 Area Development Programmes (ADPs) and seven major special projects, directly benefiting approximately two million people.
At World Vision Ghana, our mission is to provide holistic support to communities in need, focusing on key areas such as health and nutrition, water and sanitation, education, food security, microenterprise development, and Christian Commitments programmes. Through our various initiatives, we aim to create sustainable change and empower individuals to thrive.
One of the primary focuses of World Vision Ghana is to ensure access to safe drinking water for all. We work closely with communities to construct water systems that provide clean and reliable water sources, reducing the risk of waterborne diseases and improving overall health. Our efforts have made a significant impact, enabling thousands of individuals to access safe and clean water.
Education is another crucial aspect of our work. We believe that every child deserves quality education, regardless of their background. Through our sponsorship program, we support deprived students by providing them with bicycles, enabling them to attend school regularly. Additionally, we implement skills enhancement programs to help children comprehend grade-level texts and improve their academic performance.

Area Development Programmes (ADPs): Transforming Communities
World Vision Ghana’s Area Development Programmes (ADPs) are at the core of our work. These programs aim to create resilient community steering committees that actively participate in decision-making processes and drive sustainable development. Through weekly policy-sharing meetings, community members have the opportunity to exchange ideas, communicate their needs, and collectively work towards positive change.
Our ADPs also focus on child sponsorship projects, which have proven to be highly impactful. Through the support of generous sponsors, vulnerable children and their families receive essential resources and assistance. This support goes beyond just meeting immediate needs; it aims to empower families and communities to break the cycle of poverty and create a better future.
World Vision Ghana’s commitment to community development extends beyond the local level. We actively collaborate with partners, including local Ghanaians, churches, district assemblies, and other faith-based groups. Through joint board visits and field visits, we ensure effective coordination and maximize the impact of our efforts.
