Pecan is a pre-production oil field in the Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points (DWT/CTP) block, about 70 kilometres off Ghana’s Western Region, operated by Pecan Energies (formerly Aker Energy). It is not yet producing. A Plan of Development has been progressed with Ghana’s authorities, but field development work had not begun as of late 2025.

Earlier public estimates put the wider DWT/CTP resource at several hundred million barrels of oil equivalent, but development stalled after the exit of a former partner. Because the field is pre-production and its development timeline and partner structure remain unsettled, its figures are held pending confirmation.

Is Pecan producing oil?

No. Pecan is a pre-production development; it has no commercial output yet. Ghana’s three producing fields (Jubilee, TEN and Sankofa-Gye Nyame) account for all national crude output.

Who operates Pecan field?

The field is operated by Pecan Energies, formerly Aker Energy Ghana, in the Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points block.
