Ghana Currency Converter: What You Actually Get

Most converters show the mid-market rate, which is not the rate you get in Ghana. This one shows all three: the Bank of Ghana official rate, the forex bureau rate, and the gap between them, so you know what your money is really worth.

Quick reference: dollars to cedis

At the Bank of Ghana interbank rate (official). Forex bureaux will give you fewer cedis when you buy from them and charge more when you sell. Rates as of 9 July 2026 (interbank) and 14 July 2026 (bureau). Source: Bank of Ghana; CediRates.

Why the cedi is moving

The gap between the official and bureau rate reflects demand for foreign currency. The cedi lost about 9.91% against the dollar over the year to mid-July 2026 (Source: TradingEconomics). A weaker cedi feeds straight into inflation, fuel prices and the cost of imported goods. See it all on the Ghana Data Hub.
