Sending money to Ghana: check the rate before you send

Money-transfer services, banks and mobile money providers each set their own exchange rate and fee. The rate they offer is usually below the Bank of Ghana mid rate above, and the difference is part of what the transfer costs you, on top of any stated fee. Before you send, compare how many cedis the recipient will actually receive with the official rate for the same day, and compare two or three services for the amount you send most often.
