Bibiani is an open-pit gold mine in the Western North Region, with a long history and more than 4.5 million ounces produced over its life. It is operated by Asante Gold Corporation, which holds 90 percent, with the Government of Ghana holding 10 percent.
Asante restarted Bibiani in 2022 and is investing to lift output, including a sulphide treatment plant and a main-pit expansion, with a target of more than 250,000 ounces a year.
