Chirano is a gold mine in the Western Region with both open-pit and underground operations, immediately south of the Bibiani mine. It is operated by Asante Gold Corporation, which acquired it from Kinross in 2022.
Asante reports Chirano and Bibiani together; Chirano produced about 138,000 gold-equivalent ounces in the financial year to January 2024. The company is investing to raise output across both mines.
